Abstract
Statement of the Problem: In western medicine, infertility and autoimmune hepatitis are two different and non-associated diseases. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), infertility is caused by kidney deficiency, and autoimmune hepatitis is also caused by kidney Yin deficiency. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that infertility and autoimmune hepatitis come from the same root and can be treated with the same method.
Methodology: A case report of a 35-years-old woman, treated for infertility in the last three years. Her laboratorial exams were all normal. In vitro fertilization was suggested, and she decide to seek another treatment. She was evaluated by a TCM physician, which diagnosis was Kidney Yang deficiency and Blood deficiency. She started auricular acupuncture and received chinese nutritional counselling, but was still feeling weak. The doctor then measured her seven chakras, which appeared all in the lowest level of energy. The patient started the intake of homeopathy and crystal-based medication. She was still feeling weak; the doctor noticed a slight yellowish color in her eyes. She was tested for autoimmune hepatitis, which showed anti-nuclear and anti-microsomal anti-body positive. Findings: The patient is still being treated only with acupuncture, chinese nutritional therapy, homeopathy and crystal-based medication to correct the imbalance of the kidney, because of infertility and autoimmune hepatitis. Conclusion: Infertility and autoimmune hepatitis in this patient can be treated with the same method, only correcting the energy imbalances using acupuncture, diet, homeopathy and crystal-based medications, to replenish Kidney’s energy, because of both diseases.
