The emphasis of neuropharmacology is on the study and understanding of the actions of known exogenous and endogenous chemical agents on neurobiological process in the mammalian nervous system. The journal does not usually accept clinical research although neuropharmacological studies in humans.

Research efforts in cancer pharmacology are centred on uncovering the cellular and molecular underpinnings of cancer, and to identify and develop novel anti-cancer targets and therapeutic strategies. Our efforts bridge the fields of molecular carcinogenesis, biochemical pharmacology, radiation biology, and clinical pharmacology.

Cardiovascular pharmacology focuses on the fundamental mechanisms of cardiovascular cells and how drugs influence the heart and vascular system. Researchers in the department exploit novel technologies such as induced pluripotent stem cells, automated electrophysiology and genomics to investigate the cause of sudden cardiac death, congenital arrhythmias and cardiac toxicity of chemotherapeutic drugs.

A nutraceutical is defined as a food that possesses medical or nutritional properties, including the prevention and cure of illness. Nutraceuticals and functional foods are assuming a middle ground between food and drugs due to growing body of evidence that supports their role in maintaining health and contributing to treatment of disease.

Immunopharmacology is the study of the effects of the drugs modifying immune mechanism in body. A significant development has new approach to control the immunological mechanism by drugs. It includes not only inoculation but also autoimmune disorders, allergic reactions and cancer.
