Elias Semajeri Ladislas is a PhD Candidate in Management Information Systems, MSc holder in Computer Networks. He is a very accomplished Senior Lecturer at the Department of Information Technology at Adventist University of Goma. He has an impressive track record in Academia as he has held various posts, among which include being the Head of IT Department, Research Manager, IT Manager, both of which he has held at Adventist University of Goma and Research Assistant at Kampala International University. His areas of specialization include E-government Adoption, Learning Technology, Machine Learning, A.I, E-learning; Big Data, Data Science/ Analytics/Visualization; Innovation Diffusion and Technology Adoption; Computer and Information Security; Software Engineering; Project management. He is currently preparing his PhD in Information Systems in School of Mathematics and Computing at Kampala International University, Uganda.
The era of information technology has resulted in significant changes due the pervasive computing: As a result of tremendous advances in processing speed and storage capacity, as well as drastic reductions in size and power consumption, computers will become increasingly invisible. Global growth has remained very low, and businesses have matured and become more competitive. Because of the importance of computing in enterprises, information technology has become a strategic component in gaining and maintaining a competitive edge. To remain competitive, most of nowadays businesses firm obtain, collects, or works with a various large amount of data. Large variety of technology are now used as decisionmaking aids throughout businesses. However, determining the most appropriate one in every decision situation while taking into account the required benefits will aid in obtaining the desired outcomes based on different data. The major purpose of this study is to show how Business Intelligence may assist Businesses in pervasive information management. Businesses who are able to utilize Business Intelligence tools and technology such as Data Warehouse, On-Line Analytical Processing, Data Mining, and Extraction Transformation Load may be able to gain a competitive advantage through Business Intelligence solutions.
