Title: The changing world of Dentistry

Biography:

Ajay Kakar, Periodontist and Implantologist, in private practice in Mumbai with his wife and other colleagues. He is a Past President of the International Academy of Periodontology, the Past President of the IAACD and a member of the Extended Board of the European Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He had done his certification as a Smylist Dentist and extensively teaches the Smylist concept along with Dr. Maria Csillag. He extensively presents on Periodontology, Implantology, Aesthetic Dentistry, Aligner Orthodontics, Dental Photography, Practice Management, Information Management and Association Management.  Lecturing extensively around the globe allows him to teach, travel and taste. In spite of being a compulsive foodie, he is a fitness freak and can be spotted jogging, working out or displaying his net skills on the badminton court. Synonymous with electronic science, he has exploited his understanding of computers effectively to blend it into the dental arena. He is the CEO of  BITEIN, his creations over a decade ago and is the fore runner of the Internet and Indian dentistry. He is a passionate reader of a variety of subjects, of which "Objectivism - the philosophy of Ayn Rand" remains the backbone of his  approach to life.

Abstract

Digital technology has grown and is currently growing by leaps and bounds. This technology has been effectively applied in dentistry in various areas and aspects and had made dental therapy highly precise, accurate and fast. All this has been harnessed very effectively in the Smylist philosophy and makes it possible to carry out a full mouth rehabilitation in just 4 to 5 sittings. At the same time the entire result is first available digitally and then reproduced in real life. It is quite amazing how the digitization process has advanced dentistry so extensively. This presentation will elucidate this modern world of advanced digital dentistry.
