Session 1: Herbal Medicine
Herbal Medicine is also called botanical medicine or phytomedicine. It is refers to using a plant's seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers for medicinal purposes. Natural Medicine manages the investigation of medication from plants and is a part of Herbal consideration and Ayurveda. Integrative medicine refers to the treatment of patients using spiritual, emotional, mental, and environmental approaches in addition to medical ones. The main premise is that while treating disease, all elements of the patient are evaluated, including natural and less invasive alternatives whenever available. Integrated medicine (or integrative medicine in the United States) is the practice of medicine that includes complementary medicine and alternative medicine aspects into comprehensive treatment plans with more traditional diagnostic and treatment approaches. Integrative medicine is described as therapeutic treatment that considers the full individual (body, mind, and spirit), as well as all aspects of lifestyle.
 
Traditional medicine has a long history of disease prevention and control in public health. Today, a growing number of plants used in traditional medicine are being reported to exhibit a variety of activities in infectious disorders, notably viral infections, and thus could serve as additional antiviral sources. Acupuncture could be a type of alternative medicine and a key element of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in which thin needles are inserted into the body. It is used most commonly for pain relief, though it is also used to treat a wide range of conditions. Acupuncture is generally only used in combination with alternative forms of treatment. There is a diverse range of acupuncture approaches, involving totally different philosophies.
The central theoretical ideas of Ayurveda developed in the mid-first millennium BCE, and show parallels with philosophies, similar like Buddhism and Jainism. Ayurvedic doctors regard physical existence, mental existence, and personality as their own units, with each element being able to influence the others. This is a holistic approach used throughout diagnosis and therapy and is a fundamental aspect of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda has eight ways to diagnose illness, called Nadi, Mostra, Mala, Jihva, Shabda, Sparsha, Druk, and Aakruti. Homeopathy, additionally called medical aid drugs, is a medical system that was developed in Germany more than 200 years ago.  Homeopathic products come from plants, arnica, poison ivy, belladonna, minerals, or animals. Homeopathic products are often made as sugar pellets to be placed under the tongue; they may also be in other forms, such as ointments, gels, drops, creams, and tablets.

Herbal drugs constitute a major share of all the officially recognised systems of health in India viz. Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy and Naturopathy, except Allopathy. In Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, 70-95 percent of the population still use traditional medicine (TM) for primary healthcare. And some 100 million people are believed to use traditional, complementary, or herbal medicine in the European Union (EU) alone — as high as 90 percent of the population in some countries.   The industry is worth big money. In 2012, global sales of Chinese herbal medicine reached US$83 billion, up more than 20 percent from 2011.  The global market for all herbal supplements and remedies could reach US$115 billion by 2022, with Europe as the largest and the Asia-Pacific the fastest-growing market. The demand is driven by women as the main consumers of dietary supplements, by a growing emphasis on healthy living and concerns over the side effects of mainstream drugs. As per WHO estimation, around 80% of the population from most Asian and African countries depends on traditional medicine for primary health care. The use of plant products and their acceptance globally made the sector a promising one. As per the 1998 World Bank Report, the world trade of medicinal plants and related products is expected to reach US$ 5 trillion by 2050.

  • All submissions must be in English.
  • The topic must fit into the scientific sessions of the conference
  • Each individual participant is allowed to submit maximum 2 papers
  • The abstract must be submitted online as per the given abstract template
  • Abstracts must be written in Times New Roman and the font size will be 12
  • The abstract must contain the title, name, affiliation, country, speakers biography, recent photograph, image, and reference
Conditions of Acceptance:
To receive the award, the awardee must submit the presentation for which the award is given, for publication at the website, along with author permission. Failure to submit the PPT, and permission within the designated timeframe will result in forfeiture of award.
