About City

Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore is an island city-state in Southeast Asia. Singapore's territory consists of one main island along with 62 other islets. Since independence, extensive land reclamation has increased its total size by 23%. The city ranks highly in numerous international rankings, and has been recognised as the most "technology-ready" nation (WEF), top International-meetings city (UIA), city with "best investment potential" (BERI), world's smartest city, world's safest country, world's most competitive economy, third least-corrupt country, third-largest foreign exchange market, third-largest financial centre, third-largest oil refining and trading centre, fifth-most innovative country, and the second-busiest container port.

Transportation system in Singapore: As Singapore is a small island with a high population density, the number of private cars on the road is restricted to curb pollution and congestion. Singapore has a road system covering 3,356 kilometres (2,085 mi), which includes 161 kilometres (100 mi) of expressways. Singaporean residents also travel by e-scooters, bicycles, bus, taxis and train (MRT or LRT). Two companies run the train transport system—SBS Transit and SMRT Corporation. Singapore is a major international transport hub in Asia, serving some of the busiest sea and air trade routes. There are eight airports around Singapore and the Port of Singapore is the world's busiest for transhipment traffic and the world's biggest ship refuelling centre.

Tourist Attraction of Singapore: Tourism forms a large part of the economy, with over 17 million tourists visiting the city-state in 2017. The main attractions are: Sentosa, ArtScience Museum, Gardens by the Bay, Merlion, Universal Studios Singapore, Marina Bay Sands Singapore, Singapore Flyer, Singapore Zoo, Singapore Botanic Gardens, River Safari, Buddha Tooth Relic Temple etc.
