Geographical Position of the City, Canada:
Toronto covers an area of 630 square kilometres (243 sq mi), with a maximum north-south distance of 21 kilometres (13 mi) and a maximum east-west distance of 43 km (27 mi). It has a 46-kilometre (29 mi) long waterfront shoreline, on the north-western shore of Lake Ontario. The city lies on largely flat land, with little in the way of hills.

Dementia Prevalence in Canada:
Using rates drawn from the Canadian Study on Health and Aging, it was estimated that in 2016 there were 564,000 persons in Canada living with dementia. By 2031 it is estimated that the number will increase to 937,000. Women make up 72% of those living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Within a generation, incidences of new cases will increase from 1 every 5 minutes to 1 every 2 minutes. The total cost of care for persons with dementia was about $15 billion in 2008 in Canada; this is expected to rise to $153 billion in 2038.
Despite our growing understanding of dementia, many myths are still prevalent and persist.
This Dementia Conference can play an important role in educating people with dementias and their caregivers, addressing their questions and directing them to additional resources as necessary.
