Guidelines & Benefits

Meetings International announces a scheme of Awards for Young Scientists in order to promote excellence in various fields of science and technology. These Awards are known as "Young Scientist Awards". The award is open to those researchers engaged in graduate education and research activities that emphasize sustainable development.

Benefits:

  • Promoting excellence and recognising outstanding contributions made by the young scientists for their work done primarily during the course of study.
  • Learn about career development and the latest research tools and technologies in your field.
  • Students are motivated by the opportunity to select local or global topics of relevance/interest to them, and develop their own scientific investigations and models engaging locally or globally.
  • Two researchers will be selected for the Awards.

  • Opportunity to publish full length papers in reputed supporting international journals of the respective conference
  • Best Young Scientist Award presentation will be nominated by the committee and if they wish to publish the full length paper, they can publish in supporting international journals of the respective conference at free of processing charges.

Guidelines:

  • Eligibility: Any scientist, engaged in research work laboratories/institutes, who is not more than 35 years of age, is eligible for the Award.
  • Criteria: Each scientist has to submit their unique research works
    Applicants must:
    • Submit an abstract as first author through the Abstract Submission System
    • Submit the supporting materials listed below
    • Be willing to present his/her work at the Meeting International conferences
    Supporting Materials (in English):
    • Copy of passport (1st page as proof of age)
    • Copy of abstract submitted as first author
    • Completed application form
    • Updated Curriculum vitae
  • All submissions must be in English.
  • All the presentations should be in oral form only.
  • Each young scientist is required to make a brief presentation (15 minutes) about his/her research work before the Organizing committee at the event. This may be followed by 5 minutes question-answer session.
  • The awards are given for outstanding contributions made by the Young scientists on work done.
  • Scientific societies of national/international standing, university faculties, post­graduate departments or research institutions may also make nominations of eligible candidates
  • The nomination shall be made in the prescribed format. Soft copy (in MS­Word only), along with all supporting documents of the candidate through email to (Applicants are requested to send a copy of all documents to bioenergy@insightsummits.com with the subject line: Young Scientist Award)
    Documents for nomination:
    • Recommendation letter
    • Details of candidate ( Name; DOB; Nationality; Gender; present designation, department; Summarize the most significant work of the nominee on which the recommendation is based;
  • One candidate is eligible to present only one talk under the young scientist award category, and the presenter should be either the 1st author or co-author of the work.
  • Papers will be accepted based on the uniqueness and novelty of the work.
  • Organizing committee is liable to reject the paper at any point if any claims are made on the novelty of the work

A poster is a method of presenting your research to an audience in a visual format. Meetings International offers the unique opportunity to showcase your research in the poster format.

Poster presentation Benefits:

  • Unique opportunity to combine visual and oral explanations of your projects in the form of poster presentation
  • Best poster Award: 3 best posters will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the conference
  • The entire accepted poster abstract will be published in reputed and supporting international journals with unique DOI given by CROSSREF
  • Best posters will be given an opportunity to publish the full work at discounted processing charges in the supporting international journals

The selection of the winner will be based on:

  • Posters will be evaluated based on the following three parameters; those are Presentation Style (5), Research Quality (5) and Layout/Design (5).
  • Presentation clarity of poster and oral explanation.
  • Poster Judges overall responses to the questions and the completeness of work

Poster guidelines:

  • The size of the poster should be: 40" x 59" or 1X1.5 Sq.Mts.
  • Space your information proportionally: divide your poster either horizontally or vertically into three or four sections, and place your materials within those spaces.
  • Use large text (your text should be at least 18-24 pt; headings 30-60 pt; title >72pt.
  • Choose colours carefully and pay attention to contrast.
  • Cropping, Margins and Spacing: All edges and margins should be straight and even. Don't overcrowd space and be attentive to balance from top to bottom and from the side margins. Organize your elements into columns.
  • White space: (the area not covered with text or graphics): Not too much (or the viewer's eye will wander). Not too little (or you'll confuse and overwhelm your viewer)
  • Posters should have the following information.

    • Title (with authors and affiliations)
    • Introduction / Objectives / Aims
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion
    • References
    • Acknowledgements
    • Contact information
  • Posters should stimulate discussion, do not give a long presentation. Therefore, keep text to a minimum, emphasize graphics, and make sure every item in your poster is necessary.
  • Good quality of the ink is to be used to print the poster.
  • No computers or extra aids may be used during a poster presentation.
  • Poster should be placed at the allotted places 2 hours prior to the poster session and can be removed at the end of the day.
  • Keep your poster presentation to ~15 minutes per visitor/judge (10 min discussion & 5 min query session).
  • Each poster can be presented by maximum 2 presenters during the poster evaluation.
  • Try not to stand directly in front of your poster, allow other scientists to view the entire poster. Stand to the side.
  • Carry your poster to the meeting, using tubular packaging or a portfolio case. Do not mail your poster to the conference headquarters or to the meeting site.
